Sale Of Chometz 2024

Passover begins this year on Monday night, April 22nd, 2024.  The Torah prohibits the possession of Chometz (leavened products and utensils) as well as its consumption during Passover.  Furthermore, Chometz owned by a Jew during Passover is unconditionally forbidden for use at any time from that date on, even after Pesach. If, therefore, one cannot dispose of all Chometz before the approach of Passover, one must arrange for “Mechirat Chometz” or the sale of that Chometz to a non-Jew.  Since the sale of Chometz is an involved and complicated procedure, Rabbi Mandel will be glad to arrange for the sale on your behalf as well as answer any questions concerning this procedure.

This year the Chometz will be sold as of Monday, April 22nd by 9:00 AM. Please submit your forms by Friday, April 19th.
