AN URGENT APPEAL FOR MA’OT CHITTIM FUND CONTRIBUTIONS

Dear friends,

In the rush of our personal Pesach pre-occupation, we must remember to include the many families living in the Montreal Jewish community who are struggling with economic hardships and will not be able to afford the Pesach basics.  The Ma’ot Chittim Fund is part of our Pesach experience and continues an age-old custom of purchasing wheat and giving it to the poor.

Our Ma’ot Chittim Fund helps as many Jewish families as possible to enjoy the observance of the  Passover  festival  in  the  traditional  manner,  especially  this  year  with hardships continuing to be so significant.

The funds raised from our campaign are distributed to many needy families and institutions in Montreal, Israel, and other Jewish communities worldwide.  This will enable them to purchase the basic necessities for the Seder and holiday period – Matzah, wine, fish, and other Passover products with dignity.

You can make this Passover holiday brighter for our less fortunate families by generously donating to this special Ma’ot Chittim Fund and in this way enhance your own Pesach experience. With our contribution, we are counting our blessings for whatever we have and that we will hopefully merit the continuation of these blessings.

Tax receipts will be issued for gifts of $18.00 or more.
